What is TREK?

TREK is a small-scale initiative to help churches and other communities of faith in Europe reflect theologically on their life and mission. We have developed a simple learning model of conversation around a 'local table'. We encourage an informal but serious collaborative engagement in key issues relating to mission in an emerging culture as they are encountered in a local context. We also like to enjoy ourselves in the process.

Good theology is measured by healthy mission; healthy mission is empowered by good theology

The TREK team believes that good theology bears fruit in a number of ways, but particularly in the various missional efforts it generates. Healthy mission, therefore, is perhaps one of the best measures of theological quality. In the same way, healthy mission depends on good theology for its vitality. Apart from it, mission itself suffers, is limited, and easily degenerates. Missional health, on the other hand, is sustained and invigorated by good theology.
