How does TREK work?

Empowering healthy mission by bringing theological resourcing to the local table

The TREK team is convinced that theological resourcing in the interest of missional health is best accomplished on site, where you are, in your context, at your local table. Therefore, we want to come to you as fellow-inquirers of what God desires to do in and through your community. We believe strongly it is at the local table that theological investigation, interpretation, and application are most missionally potent as we search the Scriptures, pray, debate and dream together.

So it is around the tables of your kitchens, cafés, pubs and restaurants that TREK offers theological resourcing as we join you in the creative act of listening in on what the Spirit of God is saying to your community. Seminar settings and workshops can also be part of the experience. We recommend setting aside at least two or three days for a visit from the TREK team so that we have ample time for relationship-building which is so much a part of hearing from God in community. These days can include everything from film viewings to paper presentations and discussion, city tours and poetry nights, exegetical study and musical exploration, and more. In short, it can be a lot of fun as well as highly stimulating.

This article written for Christian Associates' Inside CA newsletter will give some insight into the TREK experience.
